Tips

  • First time playing Tradewinds 2? Start a game in Story Mode. This will introduce you to the game without making things too difficult early on.
  • You may accumulate special items in the game as a result of completing tasks or due to your character's special abilities. Click on the ""Items"" button to examine your inventory of special items and the powers they possess. Note: not all special items are good.
  • Need cash? Some towns have a Moneylender. The Moneylender is happy to loan you cash in amounts up to twice your current net worth. Your debts accrue interest, however, at the steep rate of 10% per month. You want to visit him and pay him back as quickly as possible.
  • Every town has an alehouse. Be sure to talk to the bartender and, if you can afford it, buy a round of drinks. You might hear rumors of market opportunities, learn tips on how to play the game, or meet people that can help you with your tasks.
  • Take note of contraband laws in each town. Then, use your warehouses to buy and sell these items. Banned goods can be sold at an unbelievably high profit.
  • You can buy 30 Fire Pots or Chain Ammo for the price of one Tiki Bomb. That's plenty of firepower to take down any ship.
  • The bank is the safest place to put your money. Deposit your money in the bank and watch it accrue 10% interest per year. Banks don't get robbed, but you only have access to all of your funds when you are in a town with a bank.
  • You'll have to balance firepower and cargo space on your ship. You can fill up your ship with cannons, but each cannon occupies space that could otherwise be used for storing five crates of cargo.
